Hello, I have two sons, ages 15 and 11, and have been happily married for 18 years. Currently, we are homesteading in Washington State. My wife and I moved a lot as kids and neither of us has a “hometown” or even “home state”. For us home is wherever we currently live together, and at the moment that happens to be near my last duty station of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. We moved here in 2015 and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, and now it’s hard to imagine moving anywhere that does not have mountains and green forests. The PNW has some of the most amazing locations for camping and outdoor activities. Our family spends a lot of time doing just that and continuing to build the homestead. My day job is running an operations center for an Executive Protection and Intelligence firm in Seattle. This year I separated from the Army after 13 years, most of that time was in Special Operations as a Special Forces Green Beret. Before becoming a Green Beret, I was in Field Artillery for a couple of years.

I greatly appreciate the time that I was able to spend in Special Forces and am still humbled by the quality of the people that I was privileged to work with for so many years. The Army, and particularly Special Forces gave me so many mental and physical skills that I continue to find useful every day. I believe in leading by example and attempt to always operate under the concept of ‘Personal Excellence’. This is all-encompassing, and includes personal accountability, discipline, perseverance, and in some cases, a bit of stubbornness.

I am thankful for this new adventure and look forward to working with all the DADs who are on the same path to become examples for our kids to follow.
