How much is your sanity worth?

Trick Question…. For me…. the price changes based on my kid’s mood! So lets talk about one of my favorite toys to distract him.

This toy had to be my first review because, in all honesty, it was the best investment I made regarding toys for Max. Our reviews will generally follow a similar format so feel free to skip ahead if thats your thing but I highly recommend this toy.

As a parent and more so a father, I'm always on the lookout for toys that will captivate my child's attention and provide a safe and educational play experience. That's why I was so excited to discover the Montessori Silicone String Toy, which has quickly become one of my child's favorite toys. Now, I’m pretty hesitant when it comes to buying crap for my kid that he really doesn’t need. After all, he will spend nearly just as much time playing with the box the toy came in as the toy itself but I’ve found the judgmental stares from the local mom group are significantly less when my kids playing with a toy vs a gallon zip loc bag (it’s sad I need to say this but don’t actually give your kid a zip loc bag…they could suffocate...it was a dark humor joke…lighten up, Karen).

A kid toy is a kid toy, I’m not gonna BS you. However, I will say one of the things I love about this toy is its versatility, while there was no mention of it in the instructions, the strings can be routed through each other to facilitate easy hanging in the car. The movement of the vehicle makes this thing come alive with movement and draws Max’s attention. It may not be designed to be hung from a car seat, stroller, or crib, but it’s easily accomplished with some MacGyver skills (If you don’t know who MacGyver is, stop reading and watch this video, you won’t be disappointed). Whenever we're out and about, I can simply attach the toy to Max’s car seat or stroller, and he is entertained for hours. It's also great for use at home, as a quick distraction from any minor upsetting event.

But what really sets the Montessori Silicone String Toy apart is its unique design. The toy is made from soft, chewable silicone, which is completely safe for babies to play with and explore. My child loves the different textures and colors of the silicone strings and enjoys exploring the toy with his hands and mouth. This has significantly increased his dexterity and hand-eye coordination over the last few months. It's also great for teething, as the silicone is gentle on his gums and provides relief from teething discomfort.

Another great feature of this toy is that it's designed to promote sensory exploration and fine motor skills. The different textures and shapes of the silicone beads provide a tactile experience that helps my child develop their sense of touch. And because the beads are strung on a sturdy cord, my child can practice grasping and pulling, which helps improve their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Overall, I can't recommend the Montessori Silicone String Toy enough. It's a well-designed and versatile toy that has captured my child's attention and provided hours of safe and educational playtime. If you're looking for a toy that's both fun and functional, this is definitely one to consider.
